Finally Friday!: Happily Ever After

As soon as this bind-up came out, I wanted to run out and grab it. But it was also on the list I'd given my mom of books she could get me for Christmas, so I left it on the shelf, caressing it each time I walked past, and hoped that someone would slip it under the tree.

Someone did.

And now, this gorgeous thing is on my shelf, and ready for me to dive into.

As soon as I tackle my current TBR, I'm snuggling up with this book and immersing myself back into the world of Maxon and America. Waiting until May for THE CROWN, this will be a well-needed bit to tide me over for the next five months. I can't wait to see the Lucy, Celeste, Marlee, and Amberly pov's, and even to reread THE PRINCE and THE GUARD.

The excitement level is nearly up to my nose.

Finally Friday! (#7): The Edge

I read PEAK as a sixth grader and was completely amazed by the story. In the years before, I loved staying up late at night on New Year's to watch the televised Everest climbs with my parents, and when I discovered this book, I devoured it whole.

Now, six years later, a sequel popped onto shelves, and my inner middle schooler screamed. Of course I waited so that I could put it on my Christmas list, but when I saw it on shelves at my local indie I just couldn't resist. The wait was too much.

I left with it in my hands, excitement at a Peak (See what I did there?), and am proud to see it sitting on my shelf and waiting for me to dive into it after the New Year. A review is definitely on the way, guys. And I can't wait to continue Peak's journey.

I'm a sucker for a good contemporary, and I've been in the YA world long enough to know that a lot of people absolutely adore Emery Lord and her work. I personally haven't read anything of hers, so I was excited to see that the blurb for WHEN WE COLLIDED interested me quite a bit. That being said, I was content to wait until release date... until the opportunity arose for me to receive an ARC.

Now, I hold in my hands this April 2016 release that I am quite excited for. How did this happen? But now it is mine and I can't wait to dive into it, though I'm saving it to read until the New Year so that I can finish my current TBR.

WHEN WE COLLIDED has me full of anticipation.

Finally Friday! (#5): The Anatomical Shape of a Heart

THE ANATOMICAL SHAPE OF A HEART is one of those books that I haven't heard much about, but has piqued my curiosity. I love anything to do with hearts-- especially anatomical hearts- so the title caught me immediately, and then there's the prose. Dead bodies, artsy-type people, and a "wildly attractive" graffiti artist? Um, yes please, sign me up.

This is one that I'll probably be reading pretty quick now that I have it, (and I have an ARC!) so be looking out for a review. I'm so excited to dive in and see what this story holds, and whether or not the book is as good as I'm hoping it will be.

Finally Friday! (#3): Legend

Some of you may know that before I started blogging, my Twitter account was a fandom account. Everyone I followed at that time seemed to be talking about Legend non-stop-- Day! June! Day and June!-- and while I saw the hype, I didn't feel like reading it. 

Flash forward two, two and a half years, and my best friend discovers the trilogy, reading it and gushing about it and making me want to give it a try. Slowly but surely, I decide that I want to read it, and said friend loans me his copies of all three books.

Now I have Legend (And Prodigy, and Champion) on my shelf, waiting on me to read it. 

After my current TBR, I'm diving in, because I think it's about time for me to see what all of you have been raving about. Whether or not I'll jump on the Legend bandwagon remains to be seen, but I can tell you that I've already read a few pages and my curiosity is piqued.
